The Preamble is the opening and introduction of the Constitution of New Ingerland.

Text

Whereas the People of New Ingerland:
Humbly acknowledging Almighty God as the source of all authority and power in civil government, the Lord Jesus Christ as the Governor among the nations, and His revealed will as our supreme authority;
Grateful and humble for our freedom;
Proud that our national unity has been forged by peoples from many ancestries;
Never forgetting the sacrifices of all who created and defended our country and liberty in times of war;
Recognising the uniqueness and beauty of the land, to which we are all bound to nurture and respect;
Upholding the virtues of freedom and liberty;
Hereby commit themselves to this Constitution, and do ordain and establish the following declaration of rights and frame of government.
