Trade unions in New Ingrea

Trade unions are a longstanding and influential component of the industrial relations system in New Ingrea. Since the late nineteenth century, organised labour has played a central role in shaping wages, workplace safety, public services, and social policy. Unlike many Western nations, where union membership declined sharply during the late twentieth century, New Ingrea has retained a comparatively strong trade union movement through the preservation of sectoral bargaining, compulsory consultation in many industries, and a political shift away from neoliberal economic policy during the early twenty-first century.

As of the 2020s, approximately half of all employees belong to a trade union, with membership exceeding 70% in many public sector occupations. The majority of unions are affiliated with the New Ingrean Congress of Trade Unions (NICTU), although a number of professional associations, statutory federations, and advocacy organisations remain independent.
