Chiefs of Staff Committee

The Chiefs of Staff Committee or CoSC is the senior military body entrusted with matters concerning the command, control and administration of the New Ingrean Defence Force, of which it has command. The CoSC is chaired by the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, a three-star rank that rotates between the services every three years. The CoSC is located at Gatehouse Square in the Kingsbury city centre.

Membership

The CoSC is a grouping comprising the Vice-Chairman and Chief of Joint Operations (CJOPS), the chiefs of each of the four service branches of the NIDF (Chief of the Naval Staff, Chief of the Army Staff, Chief of the Air Force Staff, and the Chief of the Coast Guard). They are joined by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence on a permanent basis, and Directors-General of the various defence agencies on an as-needs basis. The CoSC advises the Chairman on most matters, who in turn reports to the Minister of Defence and the Cabinet. In peacetime, the CoSC usually convenes on a weekly basis.
