The New Ingrean Railways currently operate a number of different rail vehicles that operate on the country's railway network.

All of New Ingrea's main-line rail vehicles are 3'6" (1,067mm) gauge.

Classification details

Rail vehicle classification on the New Ingrea railways had two distinct classification systems.

1878 to 1929 (Numerical)

Based on the system previously employed by the Ingrean Railways, the first system used in New Ingrea was a simple sequential numbering system, starting from 100. No reference was made to the type of locomotive at first, although after 1900 new classes tended to get a new round number for the first of their class, with the count then restarting from this number.

From 1929 (Letter and Number)

The classification system used by the Ministry of Public Works and Railways after 1929, and subsequently continued by it's various successors to the present day, sees a rail vehicle being assigned a series of letters and numbers to identify the class and road number of each locomotive.
