Argo Petroleum (originally an acronym for Association of Retailers for Government Oil) is a major petroleum company, which retails fuel in New Ingrea. Along with Deltic and Neptune, Argo is one of the "big three" private energy companies in New Ingrea. At present, Argo employs 2,700 staff, and is based in the old New Ingrea Oil offices in the South of Market neighbourhood of the Kingsbury City Centre. As a private limited company, Argo is one of the biggest companies in New Ingrea not to be publicly listed.
History
In 1986, New Ingrea Oil was broken up, and the upstream assets of the old monopoly were sold to Argo for £135 million. In 1989, the company merged with Ibex Petroleum, with the newly merged entity adopting the modern Ibex logo at the same time.
