Stanhill is a town and parish located in the north-east of the county of Centralia. As of 2010, the town has a population of 14,983, who live in an urban area consisting of four suburban neighbourhoods. A significant urban centre, Stanhill serves as the seat of the Stanhill Rural District.
Toponomy
Stanhill's toponomy is drawn from the Anglo-Saxons. In Old English stan means stone, meaning the name of the town can be translated into the modern tongue as "stone-hill".
