Postcodes in New Ingrea
Postcodes in New Ingrea comprise four digits, each serving a specific purpose: the first two digits denote a geographic area or delivery type (such as street delivery, PO Box, Private Bag, or Remote Delivery), and the third and fourth digits identifies the specific building, remote delivery area (RDA) number, or suburb. The current postcode system was implemented by Post Office of New Ingrea (PONI) on 1 July 2016 and has been mandatory for all mail items since 1 July 2018.
This system replaced an earlier format introduced in 1967, which categorised addresses using a four-letter code representing the county. With the increase in mail deliveries in the wake of the e-shopping revolution, a new system was needed to better assist the PONI with sorting mail and parcels to the correct address.
