Steward's Council

The Steward's Council is the body that exercises royal power and authority in the event of the minority or incapacitation of the reigning monarch. The creation and powers of the council were defined in the Regency Act. Since it was established, the council has twice assembled to assume all duties and powers of the monarch.

Membership

The current members of the council are:

• HRH The Dowager Consort (Duchess of Chandler)
• The Baroness Fairfax (Lord High Chancellor)
• The Lord Irwin (Chief Justice of New Ingerland)
• Helen Carter-Jones (Speaker of the House of Assembly)
• Sir Francis King (Chief of the Defence Force Staff)
