The Right Honourable Helen Yvette Carter-Jones KC MHA EC (born 6 April 1956) is a prominent politician and the current Speaker of the House of Assembly. Prior to her election as speaker, Carter-Jones was a Democratic Party Member of the House of Assembly since the 2000 general election, when she was elected to the electoral district of Rocky River—Yarrowyck in Centralia.
Elected speaker in April 2012, Carter-Jones is the second woman to hold the post of speaker since the post was established in 1854.
