Central Park, Kingsbury
Central Park is a 22-hectare (54-acre) urban park located in the City Centre of Kingsbury, CENT. It is the oldest public landscaped park in New Ingrea, and dates back to the foundation of Kingsbury in 1858. The park is roughly trapezoidal in shape and is bound by the National War Memorial to the north, Prince David Avenue and Central Park East to the east, Government House to the south, and Central Park West and Market Avenue to the west.
The park was designed by the architects , who were responsible for the overall design on Kingsbury. Construction commenced on the park in 1858 with the covering of the stream that ran through the centre of the park. Over the next century the park was progressively landscaped and paved pathways were built. The final major construction occurred in the 1950s with the building of Bothy's Pond and the Kidney Lake in two low lying areas of the park.
