A crown monopoly are a type of crown corporation in New Ingerland.
Function and role
Unlike the similar crown enterprises, crown monopolies operate in a market where there is no direct public or private competition. There are just six crown monopolies operating in New Ingerland. Generally, crown monopolies are established by statute and must conform to the operate in the utility sector, such as electricity, petroleum, communications, transport, and water.

- ↑ The Electricity Corporation was broken up in 2003, with it's functions split between a new distribution monopoly in PowerGrid, and three electricity generating Crown enterprises. The corporation was formally dissolved on the 31 December 2003.
