The Southern Sprint is a a long-distance passenger rail service operated by the Sprint Rail division of New Ingrean Railways between Kingsbury and the major urban centres of Deverauxshire. The service operates a six times per week service in each direction over the 144.92 mi (233.23 km) Southern Main Line, with termini varying depending on the day the service operates. The current service was introduced in 1994 to replace the Southern Flyer day time service.

As of 2024, the Intercapital Sprint is the fourth busiest of the intercity services in New Ingrea, with annual patronage at around 750,000 in 2022.

Route

The Southern Sprint follows the most complex routing scheme of any passenger service in New Ingrea. Whilst the leading three carriages of trains run to Te Piha six days per week (Monday to Saturday), the trailing two carriages alternate their terminus between Balfour Bay (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), and Southmere (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Trains to not currently run on Sundays.
