Sprint Rail is New Ingrea's only passenger rail operator, serving all regions of the country. Sprint operates all long distance express rail and coach services to and from the major urban centres of New Ingrea. Initially established as a crown corporation, it is today a division of New Ingrean Railways (NIR).

History

Sprint Rail was initially established as a crown corporation in May 1995, and was registered with the National Companies and Securities Commission, as Sprint Transport Limited. Under the original policies of the Tudor government, it was intended that the company would be privatised, along with all other assets of the New Ingrean Railways.

However, changing attitudes toward free-market neo-liberalism, and performance concerns led to the Howlett government reversing course, and reincorporating the organisation in to NIR in 2010.

From the point of view of nomenclature, the organisation has always used the trading name of Sprint Rail. Informally, both inside and outside the company, it is known simply as Sprint.
