The Bravery Medal is a third level award for civilian bravery, and forms part of the Orders, decorations, and medals of New Ingrea. The medal is awarded for acts of bravery in hazardous circumstances. The Bravery Medal is intended to be primarily a civilian award, but it is also awarded to members of the New Ingrean Defence Force who perform acts of bravery in non-operational circumstances
As with the other civilian bravery decorations, the Bravery Medal was created on the 6 March 1972. It is also possible for bars to be awarded to the Bravery Medal in recognition of the performance of further acts of bravery meriting the award. Recipients are entitled to the postnominal letters BM.
Description
- The Bravery Medal is a bronze medal, measuring 38 millimetres (1.5 in) in diameter.
- The obverse has the effigy of Geoffrey VII within the Royal Style of GALFRIDUS VII DEI GRATIA NOVA INGERIA REX.
- The reverse is the inscription FOR BRAVERY within a wreath of laurel ensigned by a Crown of New Ingrea.
- The ribbon is blue in colour with three narrow vertical stripes of red down the centre.
