National Citation for Bravery

The National Citation for Bravery is an award in the New Ingerland honours system for acts of bravery considered worthy of recognition in non-warlike circumstances during a time of war or in peacetime where the action would not otherwise be recognised by an existing award. The award is ranked fourth among the civilian awards for bravery, and has been awarded 1,213 times.

There is no entitlement to post-nominals.

Description

  • There is no ribbon for the National Citation for Bravery, but recipients are instead awarded a certificate acknowledging their bravery.
  • In addition a badge in the form a silver laurel leaf is issued to all recipients of the citation. For military recipients, the leaf is attached to the campaign medal of the conflict in which the commendation took place. If no campaign medal is awarded, the laurel leaf is worn on the left breast of dress uniform.
