The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet is the senior and most powerful ministry of the government of New Ingrea. The ministry has a double function and serves as the ministerial department for the Prime Minister, while supporting the cabinet as a whole. It is a non-partisan body that provides advice and support to the Prime Minister and his advisers, and also helps to coordinate and support to the departments and agencies of the government. The department is based at 25-29 West Mall in the centre of the city.
Unlike many counties, much of the department is separate from the avowedly political functions of the executive. This role is carried out by the Executive Office of the Prime Minister, which is composed of the senior advisors and advocates to the Prime Minister and helps him to make decisions on most of directives and initiatives that go into the day to day business of government.
Responsibilities
The department serves the much of the senior executive branch of government through the provision of impartial advice and support services.

Cabinet Secretariat
The directorate responsible for the Cabinet and it's various sub-committees, the Cabinet Secretariat oversees the ordering of Cabinet business and proceedings, and is charged with ensuring that Cabinet decisions are implemented promptly and efficiently. The Cabinet Secretariat is overseen by a Cabinet Secretary, a political position usually filled by the government leader in the Senate. Since 2012, the post of Cabinet Secretary has been filled by Senator Jasmine Cassidy.
Executive Office of the Prime Minister
The political office of the Prime Minister, and consisting of his closest advisors and aides, the EOPM was created in 1975 to quarantine the political aspects of government from the apolitical business of the civil service. The result has been a West Wing style body that is appointed by the Prime Minister but funded through the usual budget measures in the Parliament. As expected, the office reports straight to the Prime Minister, and has no Deputy Minister.
